If you can't say something nice.......

I want to thank all of my readers the ones that visit me on my blog and the ones that visit me on my facebook page, for always being so nice in your comments and questions. There are too many people in this world who like to argue and be cruel. I read blogs where it seems like one comment can cause the rest of the comments to be mean. What happened to the old saying if you can't say something nice do not say anything at all. I believe in sharing how you feel on a subject but all of the meanness and hatred in this world is scary and I am so grateful to have a following of very nice, kind and caring people. I hope you continue to follow my blog and follow me on facebook. I appreciate each and everyone of you. God bless you all and I hope your days have been happy.

Oh no! I missed Tuesday!

I am going to blame it on the holiday weekend. I missed posting on Tuesday! I honestly am behind on my days. Monday felt like Sunday and the rest is all messed up but I think I am catching up now and realized that today is actually Wednesday.

School started yesterday and my beautiful daughter is now a senior. Time sure does fly by. It seems when they are young like you have all of the time in the world before they grow up and then in the blink of an eye they are in their last year of high school. I plan on making this a great year for her especially since it won't be long now before she has to be an adult and I want her to enjoy being a kid as long as possible.

I am starting a real food diet. It is not a fad diet but a change in the way I am eating. I decided that the best way to do this is to take it slow and change one or two things at a time. I think that will make it an easier transition. I will be sharing my progress and hopefully some of you will join me on this. I am not officially starting until September 14 because that is the day after payday. I am going to do as well as I can with what we have on hand but I do not have enough real food in my cupboards right now to last until then. It was a shocking realization when I actually went through my cupboards of how much processed food we eat. I thought we were doing well until I took an inventory and I am sad to say we eat a lot of things that we shouldn't.

Farm update:
The rabbits are growing nicely. In a few weeks they will be old enough to start selling them. If I can get half of them sold then that will make it so that I make a little bit of money but trust me it is not enough to live on, my husband will still need to keep his job, lol.

The goats all seemed to go into heat at once yesterday so we are going to need to put some extra stalls in the goat house. Last year our buck did not seem to be able to handle more then one lady a month so I just let him in with the whole herd of does that I wanted bred this year and I found out that this year he can keep up with them all! Looking like I might get lots of goat babies all at once. I can't wait for babies to be here but that will not be for about 5 months. I have decided to dry up Nellie. She was my only milker that I was milking. She is separated from her kids right now so they spend a lot of time yelling back and forth still. They have been separated for a week but they still yell ALOT. I have also stopped milking her so that makes her yell even louder. I just keep telling myself that this will not last forever.

There is not much to say about the chickens. They still like to walk around and peck at the ground.

I bought a cat from PetSmart over the weekend. She is a cat from a shelter, she is 11 years old and very loving. Almost too loving. She wants to always be with me. I keep finding her in my bed beside me when I wake up. Ugh!

Hunting season will be upon us soon and my husband is getting antsy. He has cleared a field so that it is easier to see the deer and he likes to sit in his tree stand in the evenings and watch for how many deer come by. I think he just likes to pretend he is up there hunting.

I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend and that you have gotten caught up on what day it is.

Blessings to you all!!
